Welcome to a pottery class in my cozy studio in Mölnlycke. Enjoy working with clay and have fun together. Sometimes you’ll take a long nap, sometimes you won’t—we’re flexible here! We’ll start with brief demonstrations led by Cattis. You can choose to work at the potter’s wheel or the rolling tables, and you’ll receive personalized help whenever you need it. Wear comfortable, sturdy clothes. Aprons and slippers are available to borrow. Good to know: There is a bathroom, a microwave and stove, and a glassed-in patio for strollers and armchairs to sit in. Great conditions for both adults and children to enjoy themselves! TECHNIQUES: Wheel-throwing, coiling, hand-building, and glazing. NUMBER OF SPOTS: max 6 participants NUMBER OF HOURS: 3 hours/session, 15 hours total LOCATION: Former Keramikstudio, Höjdvägen 4, Mölnlycke ADDITIONAL COST: Cost for your glazed pieces: 140 SEK/kg. The price per kilogram includes clay, bisque firing, glaze, and glaze firing. WHEEL THROWING: You’ll learn basic centering and how to shape a smooth cylinder. At the next session, your pieces will be leather-dry and ready for glazing—excess clay will be removed. Flatten the bottom and perhaps create an attractive foot ring. Once the clay is leather-dry, you can attach a handle, carve patterns, and sign your piece. ROLLING, COILING, AND THUMBING: Clay can be shaped in so many incredible ways. Freely with just your hands, or by rolling it out and using molds and templates.
