Welcome to a course in ceramics in my cozy studio in Mölnlycke. The classes start with briefings, but then it is up to you what you want to create. In addition to turning and hand-building, you will make a plaster mold after your own turned cup. There are many steps before the mold is completed and ready to be filled with casting clay. Then you can quickly and easily start mass production. The teaching consists mainly of your own practical work under the guidance of Cattis. Put on comfortable, uncomfortable clothes and shoes. Here are aprons to borrow. Here is coffee and tea! TECHNIQUES: Turning, cutting, rolling techniques, molding and glazing. NUMBER OF PLACES: max 6 participants NUMBER OF HOURS: 3 hours / occasion, 27 hours PLACE: Former Keramikstudio, Höjdvägen 4, Mölnlycke ADMISSION: Cost of your glazed items 130 SEK / kg. The price per kilo includes clay, glaze and 2 firings. TURNING: Basic centering and the way to an even cylinder. Turned pieces will be leather dry for the next time and can be sent - excess clay is removed. At the bottom a neat foot ring. You can mount an ear, carve patterns and sign on the leather dry. MOLDING: Draw and plan the design on a cup. The original is turned with a bottom - a "basin". The clay original is put in a jar with a lid - time to pour in plaster and create the plaster mold. When the plaster mold is completely dry, the first cup can be poured into the clay. You can make 2 cups at a time. (The plaster mold is yours. You can buy clay and make more at home, and then have the cups fired and glazed in the studio) KAVLA: Can be done in so many ways. In the studio there are different molds and templates to cut out and build together.
